I was
fortunate enough to purchase a direct
Generator daughter out of a direct Gold
Coin mare in July, 2006.
Gen's Gold Flame is a 16 hand
chestnut mare, with a star. She is eleven
years old.
I bought her
because I am so excited to get the
Generator/Gold Coin bloodline to cross
with the Marshall Dillon bloodline.
I had a Gold
Coin gelding that I rode for years as a
trail horse. We bought him after he was
retired from a career as a padded show
horse. I loved proving everyone wrong
that told me he would never make a trail
horse when we brought him home and put
keg shoes on him....he was one of the
smoothest and fastest horses I have ever
been on. I love a horse with Gold Coin
blood.

She is safe in foal to Dillon Paints the
Town for a 2008 foal. This is a foal that I am anxiously anticipating. Gen's Gold Flame is
a director daughter of the great Pride's Generator out of a direct
daughter of the great Pride's Gold Coin. To have a mare of this
quality and pedigree to breed to our direct Marshall Dillon son is a
dream come true for me. Of course, there is a 50/50 chance the foal
will be solid and not spotted but with this breeding, he or she
should be so good that color won't matter. BUT if we do get color,
that will be the icing on the cake. Hopefully, we will get a colorful foal that
can walk a hole in the wind....that's a
little Texas talk for ya'.

She had
just been bathed,
that's why she's a little streaky. |
She is
a dark liver chestnut.
She is still wet from her bath. |
Where do I begin
to explain how thrilled I am that this
mare is in foal. It was a little more
difficult to get her in foal due to a
uterine condition, endometritis, which
simply means an infection and
inflammation of the uterus. Apparently,
it had gone untreated for a while before
we bought her last year and took some
expert
veterinarian care to get cleared up.
Thank God for giving us such wonderful
vets at Performance Equine in
Whitesboro, TX with such expertise in
this area.

On a
personal note, if you have read much of
this website, you know that I am a
believer, with a strong faith in God.
The very week that this mare was bred
and became pregnant was the same week
that one of my favorite horses had to be
put down. I had sold
Top Gun's Red
Baron, a gelding I raised, about a year
ago. He unfortunately foundered and was
humanely put down by his owner rather
than let him suffer. I spoke with the
veterinarian who told me that it was
such a severe case of founder that it
had to be done. I wrote on his page
that this was the best colt I ever
raised and at this point he was. But in
my grief, God spoke to my heart and told
me that to everything there is a season,
a time to be born and a time to die and
just as He had given me Topper (Red
Baron) He would give me another.
I cannot begin to understand or explain
the ways of God, but when I can't see
His hand, I trust His heart.

daughter of
Pride's Generator, out
of a direct daughter of
Pride's Gold

pedigree is that good. She is also one of the youngest direct
Generator daughters left. DNA
already done Safe in foal to

We have a new
filly, born 6/14/08 at 12:30
a.m. She is GORGEOUS! And huge.
These pictures were made when
she was 12 hours old! The
vet said she weighed probably 90
- 95 lbs at birth. I have named
her
Dillon's Cayenne. |

The hardest part of loving horses is
when you have to let them go. Sweetie
(Gen's Gold Flame) and her 2008 filly,
Cayenne, are for sale to a good home
only. We have more horses than we can
handle right now and need to down-size.
Sweetie is her barn name and it fits
her. She is a gentle, kind mare and an
excellent mother. Her filly is show
quality with a pedigree to match.
Sweetie is 16 hands and I am guessing
Cayenne will be at least 16 hands when
grown. Sweetie was trained to ride as a
young horse but has not been ridden in
several years.
Priced at $5500 for mare with foal.
